Our story
Born from the Fjords
Nordic Sunset started with a simple belief: the best way to experience Norway is through the eyes of someone who grew up here.
How it all began
I'm Marius. I grew up in a small fishing village on the edge of a fjord in Northwest Norway, where the mountains drop straight into the sea and the summer sun barely touches the horizon before rising again.
For years, I watched visitors arrive with guidebooks and leave with photographs — but rarely with the feeling I knew this place could give. The silence of a mountain summit at midnight. The cold salt air on an open ocean crossing. The way the light turns everything amber and rose in the long evening hours.
In 2018, I started taking small groups out on the water and into the mountains. Not tours — experiences. The kind that change how you see the world. Nordic Sunset grew from those first trips, and today we welcome adventurers from around the world to discover this extraordinary corner of Norway.

The region
Northwest Norway
A land of extremes — towering peaks, ancient fjords, and an ocean that stretches to the horizon. Here's what makes this corner of Norway unlike anywhere else on earth.
62°47′59 North
Above the Arctic Circle
Far enough north that the sun never fully sets in summer — the midnight sun is real, and it's extraordinary.
1,000+
Kilometers of fjord
Ancient glaciers carved these deep waterways over millions of years. No two fjords look the same.
2,469m
Highest peak nearby
The mountains here rise sharply from sea level, making for some of the most dramatic hiking in Europe.

Distinct seasons
Each season transforms the landscape — from the midnight sun of summer to the northern lights of winter.
How we do things
Small groups only
We cap every experience at 8 people. You get personal attention, genuine connection, and access to places larger groups can't reach.
Deeply local
Every guide grew up in this region. We know the hidden viewpoints, the best weather windows, and the stories behind every mountain.
Responsible travel
We leave no trace, support local communities, and run our boats on sustainable fuel. Norway's nature is our livelihood — we protect it.
